Excerpts from the letter of The Roman Catholic Bishop of San Pablo,

Bishop Emeritus Most Rev. Buenaventura M. Famadico D.D.

“Greetings of peace.”

“We invite you to be part of this special project of building a new and expanded parish church for St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna.”

“The Parish was originally dedicated to St. Joseph the Worker, when the vision was to bring the working community and their families closer to their faith in God, expecially through the intercession of St. Joseph the Worker. By 2023, the parish would reach its 75 years. All throughout these past 74 years, several generations of Canlubang families have grown with this Parish, and St. Joseph the Worker Parish church was the place of many baptisms, first communion, confirmations,  weddings, anniversaries, wakes, and funerals and the special feastdays of Christmas, Lent, and Easter.  It was truly the center of the Canlubang community’s faith.”

“Today, after 74 years, the Diocese of San Pablo, together with the leaders of the Canlubang parish has seen the great need to expand the church, because of the much larger population that is now living and working in the Canlubang area.  Many industries have come to the area, bringing with them new workers and their families.”

“The new Parish Church will be especially dedicated to St. Joseph the Worker, in order to share the Christian value  of work, especially the most simple and humble form of work.  As St. Joseph is the father of the Holy Family, the new church will through its physical design and programs,  will also encourage  the role of every father of the family to teach his children the true value and dignity of work.  The secondary Patron of the church will be St. Padre Pio, so the church shall be designed as a place of contemplation, prayer, repentance and healing, seeking St. Padre Pio’s intercession. This new church will then become a place to pray for the work  of our families, as well as the healing and conversion of hearts, in order to be of greater service to God.”
